That’s Shoe-per..

Monday, July 21st, 2008

..now I have my shoe replaced. It fell off over the weekend and I was a bit lopsided but Gray came this evening and popped a new shoe back on. Now I don’t feel like I have one leg longer than the other anymore. Mind you, having legs a different length certainly works in the field I am in.

I’ve decided..

.. I don’t like woods. There we were, me and Goose, riding through the trees when all of a sudden I saw something move. It was green and moved! So I wasn’t going forward and desperately wanted to protect Goose when all of a sudden the ground trembled and this river jumped up and grabbed me and the next thing I knew Goose had thrown herself in for a swim. These humans are very strange, because then she walked all the way home!

How exciting..

..to get to ride out for ages over new roads and tracks. Mind you it got a bit silly at one point with my rider trying to get me to cross a burn by a very small bridge in some woods. I mean to say, what a ridiculous idea – it was far too dark and slippy to do that. Fortunately he turned around. But by then the excitement had got to me and I just had to bounce home jumping at every shadow. Hope we do it again.

The fields are getting..

..smaller as the fences are going back up. Not sure that this is a good or a bad thing. At the moment there is loads of grass in our big field but we can see it growing in the field next door and we can’t get to it. Hmmm. Wonder what the humans are doing?

There’s something going on..

..because more fences are going up in the fields. We are not sure what is happening but we can’t get into the field with all the rabbits in now, the front paddock is fenced so we can’t get to the arena and there are more fence posts coming into our big field. With any luck we are going to have the grass rationed so we can’t get lovely rich grass for longer in the year.

Bailey is worried that Shaun is trying to get some gallops built. Henry is being very cruel and saying he hopes they are because he is the fastest horse in the stables.

Argh!…

..where did that come from. It is an infringement of a pony’s personal liberty. we happily spent yesterday in the back field and got put back inthe front paddock today to find a great big fence running through the middle of it and two gates.

We can’t now run along the side of the arena and get all the working ponies excited and jumpy. Spoil sports!
