.. I just went faster than I have ever done before. I galloped through the fields and went full speed trying to catch up with Tollulah who had a head start. It was fantastic and much better than drag hunting. The wind was whipping through my mane and the ground was flying underneath me. It was such a shame that I ran out of field before I ran out of energy.

Bring it on again.

Sheep – they’re all..

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

..mad. For weeks now the sheep and their lambs in the River field have been escaping into our field and then running off. We thought that the field must have been really disgusting. But today we were all put into this field as well while a tractor went around our field and threw small white balls at the ground. We don’t know what that is all about but cannot understand why the sheep would want to leave this field. It’s gorgeous with really rich tasty grass.

At one point we thought Shaun was coming to take us back to our field so we all ran away.

Hope we can stay here for even longer. Mind you those sheep don’t have get through the grass…

….Buster! put that lamb down; you cannot pick it up and drop it over the fence.. put it down!

Got to dash.

Wow, she’s..

..B – E – A utiful. There’s a new mare on the yard. She’s in isolation at the moment (with Rosebud and Peggy Sue) so we can’t go and chat to her. But wow she is really pretty. Bay Warmblood horse with a lovely eye. We can’t wait to get to meet her.

..pass the sunscreen. Although Tara is the only one with her factor 20 on today. We were all pretty glad to get a few rays. We need as much vitamin D as we can get after the wet winter we have just had.

Bailey has a set of Raybans and reckons he is cool. The grass is growing and we just had a fab lesson when we got to bounce around and do fancy things with our feet. Once we got the hang of it it really gave us a buzz and we cantered around the arena.

Tollulah was just showing off in front of Buster, we are not sure who Kelsie was showing off in front off.

Am I having fun yet..

..I’m not at all sure. I spent yesterday in a load of fields being asked to jump over logs and fences and walls. Now I know about jumping (as an ex-showjumper) but I always had to jump brightly painted things. This was like running around a field and having to go over things when I would normally just wander around them.

Still, everyone seemed happy and I got to travel with Bailey. He was very pleased with himself. He says he is trying to mess with Shaun’s head. Everytime Shaun rides him, he refuses and then jumps everything with other riders. He chortled all the way home.

I quite liked it yesterday and the jumps were all nice and small, it was just unusual.

See you all later -love Henry xx

It’s warm..

..wet and the grass is growing. We love it and we are looking forward to more of the grass growing. It gives us a real hapy feeling now spring is here. Woo hoo!

Itchy, scratchy..

..but it’s much better after the grooming I just got. Phew, it gets very itchy under my rug, so it was great today when Ceri-Anne brought me in and gave me a good grooming. i felt much better after all that loose winter hair had been brushed out.

It felt so good that when Shaun came to the gate tonight I thought he might be grooming me again so wandered over to him only to be taken in and ridden. What a con and the last time I fall for that. I’ll make sure I send Henry over next time. But I’ll have to make him think it was his idea or he’ll just refuse.

Loose sheep..

..are everywhere. There we were, minding our own business, when from one side there came a ewe and her lambs and from the other came six boys. It took Shaun so long to get them all back into the right places that our breakfast was late.

And when Amy looks after us we get our tea at 3pm but Shaun didn’t feed us until 4pm. Fancy that, making us wait an hour for food. We certainly don’t fancy that.

They ate our grass..

Monday, April 14th, 2008 Well two of them did anyway. Two little lambs came crawling through the fence between our fields and started eating grass. When they had had their fill they crawled back to their mum and had a feed of milk. How would they like it if we climbed through the fence and ate their field. Not that we could get through the fence, it has been put together far too well. Mind you, Bailey tried his old trick on the new fence on the other side of fthe field and broke three lines of wire.

Shaun was not impressed when he had to come out and fix them all.

..we all got to mess around in the field today with no work. Except for Holli and Maddie who were practicing their collected canter for cross-country. And Baby (sorry BIG) George who got tacked up again and led around the car park.
